So I need to go to bed. I really should, but all I want to do is stay up all night long clicking refresh on a web page so I can see who's going to take CA Clinton or Obama. It's probably going to be Clinton, but.... I still hold out hope as I see him inch his way up in numbers. I'm not a Clinton hater like many I know, but oh how I'm strangely invested in Obama. Le Sigh.

So, today I got a haircut, I am super hearting it. Today was also my first day of being unemployed (yay!ish). I would've liked to have slept until whenever, as I got home at 5am, but I still had a bit more work to finish off before I went to get my haircut. Today was so insanely busy but I'm glad to finally get my hair cut, I will post a better picture soon, this was just me being a lazy goof. I have a job interview on Tuesday and I'm lovin' Ben's feather hat rocktober pic. http://picasaweb.google.com/SumerianWarlord/RocktoberfestFunf/photo#5126594286958370578

There are several truths I am about to share
1) There is an episode of Yugio GX that', while not officially call this, should be called the "mystery of the disappearing eggwich sandwich".
2)Blake ate about half the pickles from my fresh jar of pickles, wascally wabbit.
3)I do not do well on little sleep. After 2 nights of staying up till 4am and 1 night up till 1, by Sunday I was stick a fork in me done with the emotional patience of an ADD kid : )
That having been said I had an awesome few days where I was lucky enough to have Ben and Jessi stay at my place for a couple of days and sleep on the uncomfortable air mattress (they bought Blake and I doughnuts), I went to my very first bachelor party which was so much fun, and I went to Max and Kristen's wedding which rocked, not only 'cause we were all gathered for the joyous occasion but also because I was assigned to sit at the infamous Table 10.
Honey Bear Pyramids for all!

MySpace, oh what a dangerous place. I got a "bulletin" from a friend of a friend entitled "DONT BUY PEPSI". This I must read, are they anti-abortion, are they killing puppies, do they use toxic substances to create their toxic gruel? I figured that these questions and more would be answered by reading this post. This is what it said.

---Warning, This Is A Rant ---
Don't buy Pepsi in the new can. Pepsi has a new "patriotic" can coming out with pictures of the Empire State Building , and the Pledge of Allegiance on them. However, Pepsi left out two little words on the pledge, "Under God." Pepsi said they didn't want to offend anyone. In that case, we don't want to offend anyone at the Pepsi corporate office, either! So if we don't buy any Pepsi product, they will not be offended when they don't receive our money that has the words "In God We Trust" on it.
HOW FAST CAN YOU FORWARD THIS ONE!???

OMG, WTF ... HUH??? If anything made me feel like tiling my walls with patriotic Pepsi cans, this would be it. Suddenly I felt the urge to drink mass quantities of the toxic gruel. Basically, I am super offended by her post, which, in reverse says to me, you aren't patriotic/ don't love your country if you don't believe in God, 'cause goodness knows leaving God off of the can is treason. I applaud Pepsi for making patriotism more inclusive as well as, hopefully, creating more of a hmmmm, I don't know, separation of church vs. state trend more commercially popular.

I actually believe in God, but have always felt that God is a personal thing and should be kept out of the Pledge etc. Doing that assumes everyone is a Christian, which is super lame.

Oh Jeremiah, how I love thee and hate thee as well. I'm talking about the tv show. Which is cheezy in many ways but has some interesting stuff in it. I love it because of the interesting concepts but hate loving it because a lot of it is just sooo bad. Perhaps I should read the comic it's based on.

So this Saturday was jam packed for me. I went to see Bratz (the movie) ... oh so excellent! Then I spent time w/ Huong ( a friend of mine/ wife of coworker Marty), cutting fabric and talking, capping off the day by going to TGIFridays for a dinner celebration of another coworker and his girlfriend Ryne & Rita. It's been a long time since I've gone to TGIFridays, however they have toned down the blingey/schwag of the restaurant (they waiters no longer look like they've been hit with a button bedazzler) which was a bit disappointing.

That having been said I had a delightful time and got this gem of a photo of it (my cropped slightly fuzzy userpic)here is a link to this gem of a photo where I look amazingly wistful, Max creates an awesome bookend on the other side w/ his eyes looking expressively off to the side and Kristen ( the only person i think who knows her pic is being taken) looks most excellent and alert in the middle. Hurrah for candids! : )

On a side note, I'm super excited that Blake, ze best boyfriend ever, has picked up a job so he's making the bucks editing video during a time he would usually not be working 'cause the school he works for is closed for summer break. yay moneys, etc and a foot in the door.

I hate housesitting cats. They are the most particular, pain in the ass animals to deal with. Their owners know it too! This week I fed a cat (different than the one I'm housesitting) who attacks when you feed her (OK, so a dog could have that behavior too).

In the past I've dealt with cats who are upset that their owners are away so they hide, won't let you pet them and then after awhile of doing this get so starved for attention that they are all over you like white rice, needing the love. All you cat lovers out their, don't get me wrong, I actually like cats, but I hate housesitting them because of how imprinted they get to their owners and it's probably the reason why I won't have a cat.

Many cats are very loyal, very smart and they let their displeasure be known if not to me (the cat sitter) to the owners when they come back and find their house sprayed etc. Now you may think this is just me. I have some kind of odd effect on cats, not so. They like me and their owners know of these problems before they leave on vacation (oy vey!) The dogs I've sat have been lovely, friendly and have rarely caused me problems. They like to play, they like to be fed and they like to be petted. I'm not saying that there aren't unpleasant dogs out there, but those usually get kenneled for their penchangt to kill! kill! kill! strangers : )

I'm currently housesitting at a house off the beach in Half Moon Bay for my aunt Margaret. She has a cat named Leia who is known for leaving dead animals when she's upset. Leia is super smart, she knows not to use her claws on me (kneading and whatnot) 'cause I don't care for it. She understands when she's done something wrong. Margaret is gone for a rather extended period of time and now Leia is expressing her discontent. Leia is an indoor/outdoor cat and last night she left either a hairball or a really hairy dump on the tile bathroom floor. I talked with her about it and she stalked off to the living room, not going near me for the rest of the evening (in contrast to the night before when we'd been spending time together with me petting her etc.)

This morning I woke up to a sound of her kind of hacking, I'm thinking... ugh! another hair ball. No... when I get up and reprimand her and she stalks off to the living room, I look under the table in the bedroom (one very hard to get under w/ many legs and suports and whatnot) and there is a beheaded gutty squirrel under the table. Dead squirrels smell! The most I've received from her in the past has been a tiny baby bat. This is just nasty. Not only that but further in the corner there is a dead beheaded bird. OOOOooh! Me, not happy about being woken up 8'ish on a Saturday to clean up dead squirrel and deal with a super smelly bedroom.

This weekend Blake and I headed up to Ukiah to spend time with Jessi and Ben and see a High School play that Jessi helped to put on, a modern adaptation of the Odd Couple.

The play had an excellent Felix and I chuckled throughout. So Ben and Jessi live in a storage unit, I had no idea! Well... they don't literally but they live in a housing unit on a storage unit lot, it's a rockin'large apartment with rooms abounding at every turn and a tub that could be used for baptisms.

Hmmmm, perhaps that'd be a good way for them to make some extra change... I can just see the line of people in their best white duds queuing up to get submerged and blessed.

Sunday, after Ben made tasty french toast, we all headed out to the beach and DAMN! That water was cold! I was the first to completely submerge myself, then Ben was next, making a mad, nekid dash across the sand and into the water and finally Blake took the plunge. Jessi, probably the only one of us with real sense, sunned on the beach while we were working up muster to dip in the ice cold water.

All in all, a lovely weekend and today.... oh today... I'm tired, a kind of happy whole body tired of spending a day out in the sun, running around.

Last night Blake and I went to see Red Line. Soooooo bad, but soooo good. What was really great about the whole thing was that shortly before the end of the movie the fire alarm went off and we had to evacuate. We found out later a car had exploded in the parking garage underneath the theater. That's what we heard anyway. So we got the excitement of leaving during the super bad movie AND as an added bonus we got free passes. So one bad movie down... and another one for free! Blake bought me movie treats and we shared some ice cream. yum!

When I was about 10 I was dying for a remote control car. I would often see compelling commercials of monster truck like remote control cars defeating all odds and climbing over rocks and logs with fiery gusto. I ended up getting one, just a regular car which was fine (I didn't need a monster truck one... EVERYONE knew that they were lame out of box) but my car's alignment was off (wouldn't drive straight) and didn't go very fast. It was rather disappointing. My ardor for remote control cars waned after that. But THIS... my friends.... THIS! is the ultimate remote control "car" that does everything those monster truck commercials detailed AND carries a person.
Check it out!

So, what's really cool is that the band in the video below is a local band and they will be playing at Blakes on Telegraph on 4/13 (or so it says on their super neat website) - I'm sure much rockin' will be had that night... I may just go.

Last night I had the best valentines ever. Not because of anything lavish... but because I'm a big goober. So Blake and I went out to Won Ton soup for dinner (very good) then we headed out to see the latest Drew Barrymore flick, Music and Lyrics (a fun time). We arrived a bit later than was optimal for the showing we were planning on so we went to IKEA instead and had the best time. We danced in the aisles (so much fun) as they played 80's pop hits and then out in the parking lot we took rides on the flat carts, kind of like grocery carts minus the basket. As we were flying around the security guard lady gave us the thumbs up (well, not literally but verbally). We went to see the movie (picked up some amazing new dance moves from it) and then headed home. So, yes, sounds lame but it was super awesomes in my book. Accidental awesomeness always seems sweeter than planned awesomeness.

There are days when I just don't want to be an adult. I have bills to pay, calls to make in accordance with paying bills, bosses to deal with and dishes in the sink. On these days the beauty of being able to eat ice cream for dinner, go to bed when I want to, come and go as I please and have a disposable income suddenly pale in comparison with the relative ease of living at home with ones parents and not have to worry about adult stuff. On these days I just want to stay in bed, with the covers over my head, flashlight in hand and read.

Sometimes I get overwhelmed by life and just want to disappear.
What is that, the phone ringing? I'm not at home ;)
What is that, responsibility knocking on my door? Corinne doesn't live here anymore.
Those dishes lying in my sink....if I leave them out in the rain, they'll wash themselves? Right?
Sigh
Today has been a day.

I finally figured out how to change "moods" within live journal. This has altered my life for the better as I no longer have to worry about the brilliant yellow smiley showing up and annoying the hell out of me. I do, however, have to worry about everybody else (of the many "friends" I have) projectile vomiting from the super cuteness of my mood icon. I LOVE it though. : )

Last night I stayed up into the wee hours to finish reading my book. It was a school night, but I threw caution to the wind and decided to cozy into bed and keep on reading. I hadn't done that in a really long time. Sometimes you just have to indulge in a little non-sensibleness on school nights every now and then, whether it be really simple, like staying up w/ your sweety talking into the night or going out dancing until 3am.
It was simply delicious.
